Emma Pack

Emma served as a Gunner in the Army and was discharged in 2005. Her injuries include a hearing impairment, nerve damage and a degenerative disc disease which has resulted in the loss of feeling in her legs. She will be competing in swimming, athletics (shot put and discus) and powerlifting. Emma has had to deal with a number of mental and physical challenges her injuries have brought her. She now believes she has come through the other side and can use the Games to prove she can be the person she once was. “I want to prove to my children you can achieve what you want and you will get through the other side even though things are bad at the time. I want to look back and say ‘you know what you have been through a lot in your life and now look at what you have achieved.’”
