David Scott

David ‘Scotty’ Scott, a former Major in the Army, immersed himself in physical activity after losing a limb as a way of coping mentally and took part in the Invictus Games in 2014. But problems with his stump in the last 18 months stopped him from being physically active and impacted on his mental wellbeing. Scotty is now able to train again and will compete for the UK Team in golf, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis. Scotty said: “The psychological effect that sport can achieve is second to none. Exercise and activity is crucial for my continued wellbeing. Being part of a dedicated team with support and comradeship will allow me to recover and continue to remain physically and mentally active prior to, during and post Invictus Games 2017.”
