Since losing his legs in 2010, former Sapper Ashley Hall has struggled to find his way back into Civvy Street. He was in the Army for ten years before being discharged in January 2017. Colchester-born Ash said: “Since losing my legs, I’ve struggled to keep weight off and return to a body image I'm happy with. Wheelchair rugby training has helped me so much, and helped me feel more confident about myself.” Ash is looking forward to competing in the wheelchair rugby, powerlifting and athletics competitions once the team arrives in Toronto, and is keen to continue reaping the fitness benefits of being involved in the Invictus Games.
