We are currently involved in the CRAFT study being run by King’s College London.

Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) is a method of intervention to help significant others of those suffering with addictive disorders to seek help. CRAFT includes coaching significant others to motivate their loved ones to seek help and helping them deal with crises related to their loved ones' mental health problems.

The CRAFT protocol was then adapted for veterans (VA-CRAFT) focusing on veteran-specific contents including PTSD, AUD or both. In order to pilot VA-CRAFT within the UK ex-Service population, King’s College London proposed anglicising this U.S. model to create UKV-CRAFT.

The research was conducted by King’s Centre for Mental Health Research and the interventions were delivered through the Help for Heroes Hidden Wounds psychological wellbeing service.

Results of the study will be available from December 2019.
