Cycling from the Pacific to the Atlantic

Posted by Help For Heroes | Categories: General

Before his tragic death following an explosion in Afghanistan, Ant Downing was an incredible endurance athlete. One of his (many) impressive feats was cycling 3091 miles across the USA from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean.

This summer his friend Rich Emmerson is aiming to repeat Ant's achievement, following the same route and matching his time. This involves crossing America from San Diego across 12 states to Washington DC in 25 days!

Rich is a serving Captain at present at RAF Henlow, he is training hard but the wet woodlands of Bedfordshire are not replicating the hot desert conditions he will need this summer!

Give Rich some encouragement by following him on Facebook here and you can support his fundraising via Just Giving here
