Today marks the fourth anniversary since the tragic events in Woolwich.
Residents at our Recovery Centre are planting a four-year-old apple tree in the horticultural therapy garden in memory of Fusilier Lee Rigby.
The apples from the tree will be used in cooking classes and in the kitchens at the Recovery Centre for wounded, injured and sick Service Personnel and Veterans.
The beneficiaries who planted the tree have recently completed a City and Guilds course in Practical Horticulture with Help for Heroes.
Beneficiary, Rachel Willis, said: “It’s only a gesture, but it’s nice that the tree we’ve planted today will live on and provide us with fruit for years to come.”
