Fancy a weekend away to improve your cycling skills and relax in a swanky hotel? Why not sign up to a Cycling Plus Weekender?
Cycling Plus, the biggest cycling magazine in the UK, are hosting three Weekenders across the UK, where you can improve your cycling skills and technique as well as go on a couple of 50 to 60 mile rides in beautiful locations.
AND they are offering Help for Heroes supporters a 15 percent discount – all you need to do is enter the discount code H4H when prompted.
By attending a Weekender you will get some real hands-on cycling experience, with sportive-style rides, talks from the inspirational and entertaining former hour cycling record holder, the ‘Flying Scotsman’ Graeme Obree, nutrition and technique advice plus one-to-one coaching.
Each weekender’s itinerary will feature two nights accommodation at a luxury hotel with health club and spa, guided group rides – organised by Andy Cook Cycling, who are also planning the routes for the epic H4H cycling event Hero Ride that is happening this June, and there will be leaders from the cycling industry on hand to give you loads of insider info on how to improve your cycling.
The venues are Shrigley Hall Hotel, Cheshire, a four-star country house hotel on the edge of the Peak District (21-23 March). The picture above was shot on the roads around Shrigley Hall. We then move on to Norton Park Hotel, Winchester, for the South Downs (25-27 April) and Oxford’s Heythrop Park Resort for the Cotswolds (16-18 May). The ticket includes buffet dinner on the Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday breakfasts, three-course dinner on Saturday – a chance to meet the experts – and rides on Saturday and Sunday. Each venue has secure bike storage.
You’ll need to bring a roadworthy road bike, a helmet and cycling clothing for two days’ riding. The website has a list of other kit you might consider.
