South West | Shirley's update
Plymouth Band of Brothers and Sisters, along with their children made the most of a glorious spring day on Tuesday 11 April when they joined the Plymouth Help for Heroes team in the Hero garden for some springtime fun.
We hunted for eggs in among the apple and pear trees, picnicked on the lawn, planted sunflower and pumpkin seeds and best of all enjoyed the wonderful company. The planting activity was expertly led by Chris and Matt from Endsleigh Garden centre in Ivybridge.
Each child had their own pot which they painted in bright spring colours, and were allowed to take their planted seed pots home. We are hoping for some photos of wonderful blooming sunflowers. Maybe some of the pumpkins will be carved for Halloween!
Some children even got up close and personal with the local “wildlife”!
Everyone had such a lovely day, so we plan to organise more of the same throughout the summer. We really hope that you will come along and join us for some garden fun!
Wales | Ruth's update
We have had two fantastic events here in Wales this month. One at the Bluebell Inn, Cardiff, where our BoB/BoS members got to relax with a pie and a pint. It was great turnout and everyone enjoyed it.
The other event was at Green Meadows community farm in Cwmbran, where we had a family fun-filled farm adventure and Easter egg hunt!
We got to meet “baby Davies”. Alison, our key worker in Wales, fell in love so much she wanted to take her home! Ffion is the daughter of Donna - one of our Band of Brothers - and Tony Davies.
What’s happening next month?
We are planning to have coffee/tea and cake sessions for everyone to meet with Welsh team throughout Wales. It will be a great opportunity for you to tell us what you want to see in Wales and learn about our future plans. Look out for dates soon, it would be great to see you all there!Back to Bandstand
