Alan's Update | Midlands
We had an amazing second Midlands Black Tie Ball on Saturday 28, with all 120 tickets sold. Those that were there will testify to the atmosphere they created. The band told me it was one of the best crowds they have played to all year and are keen to star again in next year’s ball. It gets better each year so as long as there is the demand, I will keep trying to step it up - just remember book early!
We also had a great breakfast get-together in Stoke, and I am looking to another two in November:
- Nottingham, Monday 13 November
- Leicester, Thursday 23 November
I hope to see plenty of you there to share a sausage and have a chat. I am also arranging something for the evening of Wednesday 22 November in Birmingham with details TBC at this point - keep an eye on your emails!
We will also be having a ballot for tickets for the Military Tattoo taking place on Sunday 26 November, and hopefully some other show tickets - again working hard to confirm these for you.
One change of date for you: the Mission Motorsport track day at Donnington Park has been changed from the 8 to the 15 December. More details to come as I receive them.
I am working on the Christmas function dates and locations and hope to have these with you in the next two weeks.
Lastly, if you weren’t aware we have a number of Midlands guys to be part of The Cenotaph March past on Sunday 12 November. If you are watching on the TV keep an eye out and remember they are representing every one of you. You are a very special bunch and you can be incredibly proud on that important day.
Lindsay's Update | East
I have had a fantastic first month, which has flown by. I have met lots of you which has been great, and I look forward to getting out and about and meeting a lot more of you. Those of you I have met have given me a very warm welcome, so thank you.
My first activity was a Hazel Hurdle Making Workshop, which was interesting. I wasn’t sure whether I was going to be able to do it, but got it in the end, and loved it! We are now working on creating more of the fence panels to go around the perimeter here at Chavasse House, so if anyone would like to join us please let me know. It’s going to be an ongoing project as we have approximately 30 to make.
We also held another Band of Sisters Respite & Relaxation weekend at Chavasse VC House. Nine BoS were treated to weekend of pampering, Pilates, flower arranging and yoga. They were also able to enjoy a well-deserved lie in, meals cooked for them and more importantly meeting other BoS in similar experience and many went home having made new friends. One BoS who attended said ‘I want to say a very big thank you for such a great weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed being pampered and looked after, plus the after dinner games which were such fun.’
What’s coming up this month:
- Meet and Greet in Suffolk, Marlow’s Home and Garden, Bury St Edmunds, 24 November
