Award-winning professional services firm, WYG, has become an official supporter of Invictus UK. Its support will help Team UK competitors on their journey to the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 via the Invictus UK Trials, which will run from 22-26th July in Sheffield.
The Trials will be the largest gathering of UK military wounded adaptive sports competitors. This year 475 competitors are due to take part.
Douglas McCormick, WYG Chief Executive Officer, commented: “It is an honour to be officially supporting Invictus UK. Competing to be a part of Team UK at the Invictus Games will be a life-changing experience for those who compete, all of whom have given so much in the service of our country.
“At WYG, we have a long tradition of supporting the UK Armed Forces through our people and projects, this has been recognised through our MOD Gold Award for the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. Our collaborative approach of working with clients has a strong affinity with the work of Invictus UK, which supports not only competitors but also their friends and families who are such a vital part of the recovery journey; before, during and after the Invictus Games experience.”
Martin Colclough, Chef de Mission of Team UK for Invictus UK, and National Head of Sports Recovery at Help for Heroes, commented: “We’re pleased to welcome WYG on board as an official supporter of Invictus UK. The vital and valuable contribution that family and friends make in supporting the recovery of our wounded, injured or sick service personnel and veterans is a key focus for WYG and Invictus UK.
