Social media is an epic fundraising tool you can use to promote your fundraiser. But did you know you can also set up a fundraising page to collect donations directly on. Create a Birthday Fundraiser where you collect donations to celebrate or make a page for any challenge you decide to set yourself.
If you prefer to take on a challenge with others then keep your eyes peeled for one of our Facebook Fundraisers. We run these throughout the year with opportunities to complete challenges such as climbing 300km or running 200m in one month.
It’s no secret that we love cycling and we think it makes for an epic fundraising challenge. If you’ve got a passion for pedalling, we have all the tools to help you set up an incredible virtual cycling event. Our Heroes Ride 200 challenges you to ride 200 miles in a month but you can set your own challenge pace, time and place. Do it anytime, anywhere. You can even invite some friends along to make it a team effort.
Creating a Hero Fund is a simple and accessible way to remember a loved one. You can share the page with family and friends ahead of a funeral or on a special occasion. Loved ones can share memories and tributes while supporting the Armed Forces community. You can create a Hero Fund in 5 simple steps and share it via email or social media.
If you’ve got family, friends or teammates who live miles apart this could be a great way to reconnect. You can even enjoy your favourite beverage while you're at it! There are tons of great quiz questions to be found online or you can get creative with your own; why not come up with a theme for your questions such as military history? Choose a platform such as Zoom or Skype to meet on your chosen date and time. Set up a JustGiving page or Facebook Fundraiser to collect donations.
It’s so easy to raise money and share your viewing experience online with others now. Simply choose a film for the night, a movie franchise over a few nights, or a TV series to binge. Then pick a date and get advertising. You can share with friends and family, share on your social media account, or find local groups on Facebook to share with. You can use tools such as Teleparty from Netflix, Scener or twoseven to stream films and shows with your chosen audience. Don’t forget the popcorn though!
Online concerts are a great way to raise money and bring people together online. Use any easy to access platform such as YouTube to live stream your concert. Be sure to share links and promote your concert ahead of time. If the bands have a following online be sure to make clever use of this by sharing to their social channels or tagging them in your posts.
Think about your audiences viewing experience by setting up great camera angles and ensuring sound quality is good. You can also encourage donations throughout the concert by engaging with your audience during the live stream using your chosen platforms chat tools.
If you’ve got an epic skill that you know others would love to learn, then why not teach others online? For example, you could teach others to bake by donning your apron for an hour to give people a live cooking class over Zoom. Your audience could make a small donation to watch a one-off lesson, or you could encourage a regular donation as a subscription to a whole course worth of lessons.
If you know a group of avid readers, why not set up a book club? Making it a virtual book club means you’ll be able to include more members no matter how far apart they may be. Get together weekly, fortnightly or monthly on a video calling platform to talk about your latest read. You can each make a small donation to join each time instead of spending money on long journeys to meet face-to-face.
Want a simple and fun way to fundraise online? Well... Bingo! You can enjoy Bingo over a video calling platform with friends, family, with a local group or your workmates. Ask people to make a small donation to join in and have fun finding your winning numbers. You could even create a custom printable Bingo sheet for your event to make the game easier for your attendees.
