Create a Hero Fund
Celebrate your loved one's life by helping veterans in their memory.
Funeral flowers may fade and die but your loved one's memory will live on.
If you’re in the process of organising a service for your loved one, please accept our sympathies for your loss. We hope you’re getting all the love and support you need.
We appreciate there’s a lot to think about when arranging a funeral or memorial. Please know we’re thinking of you and are here to make celebrating and commemorating your own hero as simple as possible.
It’s incredibly kind of you to think of others, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We hope your loved one's funeral or memorial service will give people a chance to say goodbye and pay their respects. Grief can be isolating but asking friends and family to support a cause that was important to your loved one can be a positive way of bringing everyone together and offering comfort and hope at a sad time.
Many people nowadays ask their family and friends to donate to their loved one’s favourite charity instead of spending money on floral arrangements. In this way, everyone can play a part in upholding the values they lived by and protecting what really mattered to them.
If you feel this is the right option for you, there are a few ways we can help you to do this:
In just a few minutes, you can set up an online tribute page, a Hero Fund, where friends and family can donate and leave a message. Your Hero Fund page can be accessed from anyone in the world, meaning those not able to attend the service in person can still feel connected and involved and leave their own personal dedication. Following the service, the page can become an ongoing tribute where family and friends can join together on special days.
Click the button below to learn more about our Hero Funds and hear from other families who find them helpful.
Alternatively, you can add the following link to your order of service which will take friends and family to the donation page of our website where they can also donate in memory: https://donate.helpforheroes.org.uk/
Please ask anyone who kindly donates to tick the box specifying that their gift is in memory and include the name of the person being honoured.
We can supply collection envelopes which can be handed out or left on seats at the service for those who wish to give on the day. Completed and sealed envelopes can be returned to our offices following the service, but we do ask you not to send cash through the post. You may wish to speak with your Funeral Director as they will usually be happy to collate all gifts received and send on to us on your behalf.
To request envelopes or to speak with someone about online tribute pages, please click the button below and we will be in touch.
To donate by phone, call our Supporter Care Team on 0300 303 9888.
Please let us know that this donation is being made in memory so we can add your gift to the right collection.
To donate by cheque, please send your donation to:
