Give as you shop
Simple ways you can give as you shop at no extra cost to you.
So you’ve decided to host a Facebook fundraiser, that’s awesome, thank you so much! Maybe it’s for your birthday, possibly your wedding or maybe you have an epic challenge lined up, whatever your reason, we are delighted that you have chosen to support our wounded, injured or sick veterans and serving personnel.
At Help for Heroes we provide lifetime support to those wounded in the service of their country. No matter when someone served, we believe that those prepared to put their lives second, deserve a second chance at life. Every course and activity we offer aims to empower them to look beyond illness and injury, regain their purpose, reach their potential, and have a positive impact on society.
The need for support is growing and we believe that together we can continue to empower those who need us most. Without you this simply would not be possible.
To help you create a successful fundraiser check out our handy video and tips below:
Start with an initial goal of £50-£100. Once you reach your goal you can increase it again and again.
Once you have set up your fundraiser, you will have the option to share it with your friends on Facebook, Messenger, Email and WhatsApp.
Think about sharing your fundraiser a couple of times. Some may miss it the first time or may not have been in the position to donate at the first time of sharing, think of it as a friendly reminder.
Why not share your Facebook Fundraiser link with work colleagues or friends of friends. You do not have to be friends with someone on Facebook for them to donate to your fundraiser.
To help show how serious you are about your fundraiser why not get the pounds rolling by making the first donation? Choose your donation amount carefully, as this could influence how others donate.
You are fundraising for a cause close to your heart. Tell your friends and donors why you are fundraising and why their support matters. Give them a reason to donate.
Post occasional updates to your Facebook Fundraiser feed. If you hit a new goal, celebrate it! A few days before your fundraiser ends share a nice message with everyone who has donated.
Be sure to thank everyone who donates to your fundraiser. You can also ‘like’ their donation on your page as well as giving them a proper thank you.
Many donations will come in on or after the day of your birthday. So, don’t be shy to share your fundraiser a day or two after your birthday, you never know you might get a few more donations!
Rather than using a dedicated fundraising website like JustGiving, you can also make a fundraising page on Facebook.
