Walk to Remember is suitable for all ages, whether you join us in person at Bovington or create your own walk.
We would recommend wearing wellies or waterproof hiking boots. Due to the type of terrain and time of year, the ground is likely to be wet and muddy, with some puddles. As long as you prepare for muddy feet, you will certainly enjoy the walk.
This route is mainly off-road, going through the forest and using uneven dirt tracks. Although it is a short walk and could be completed with a low level of fitness, it isn't completely flat.
We recommend using an off-road pram for the route at Bovington, but please be aware that the ground is very uneven and may be wet and slippery in November.
The route at Bovington features off-road, unpaved, and uneven terrain, making it difficult or unsafe for wheelchair users.
We are looking to expand our locations in later years, but the best current option for wheelchair users is to create your own walk, local to you. Get your community, family and friends involved to make it a commemorative event honouring your hero.
Yes! You are welcome to bring your bike and cycle the route.
Registration opens from 09:45. We will then provide you with tea and coffee until the talk starts at 11:00. The walk will then commence at 11:30. This should approximately take 1 hour. Once you arrive back you will be provided with refreshments and pastries. This will then be counted as your free time, and you will be able to enter the tank museum at your leisure.
If you have any questions our Events Team is on hand from Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
