YOUR NEXT RUNNING CHALLENGE AWAITS

Run, roll or walk this beautiful route around Manvers Lake in aid of the Armed Forces Community.

It's the perfect challenge for beginner runners taking on their first distance run, groups of friends looking for a social summer challenge, or even regular runners looking to go beyond Park Runs.

Whether you join solo or as part of a group, you'll be part of an inspiring community of fundraisers making a difference with every step.

About the event

  • Held at Manvers Lake, Wath-upon-Dearne, Rotherham
  • Registration from 8:30am - 9.30am
  • Race starts at 10am – finish approx. 1pm
  • Our events team will be on hand during the day to support you every step of the way

Registration is open to anyone aged 16 or over.

What's included

    FUNDRAISING AND REGISTRATION

    We ask each participant to fundraise as much as they can. Our suggested target would be £200 and it can be submitted after the event.

    The easiest way to collect donations is to create a JustGiving Page. If you need help setting this up we have a handy guide on setting up your fundraising page

    • Heroes 10k Race FAQs
      • The 10 kilometre route is just over 6 miles. Depending on ability, on average takes around 2 hours to complete.

      • Yes, the race location and route are wheelchair accessible. You're welcome to cheer on friends and family, or register yourself and join in the fun.

      • Running a 10k as a beginner is achievable. Committing to a regular training plan 8-12 weeks before the race will help you have the best experience on the day. 

        Over the 8-12 weeks you should vary the distance to gradually build up to the full 10k. Following a plan specifically for beginners can help structure your training.

      • The Heroes 10k is an accessible run that can be taken at any pace depending on your ability. Walk, run or roll the route, we'll cheer you on along the way.
