What is it?

A 2-day workshop for those that are interested in designing and creating their own frame drum from deer hide or goat skin. The process includes cutting and soaking the skin, fitting and fixing the skin over the frame, creating a handle, making a beater and decorating the final instrument to make it totally unique. The final product will be a beautiful hand-crafted and fully functional frame drum.

Wounded, injured and sick veterans and serving personnel

Why is it offered?

The process of making a drum is relaxing, creative and therapeutic. In addition, you end up with a totally unique product which can be used for making music in the future, so the enjoyment continues once the workshop has finished. Drum making is an excellent outlet for someone with creative flair.
