The way we work

We work 35 hours a week across the hours of 7am to 9pm. Our core working hours are 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday.

If you’re unwell

If you’re unwell, we pay you when you are off work:

For less than 6 months service = 5 days full pay

6-24 months’ service = 10 days full pay

24-36 months’ service = 20 days full pay

36 months’ service = 30 days full pay

A family friendly culture

Maternity pay

We offer colleagues:

  •  12 weeks’ full pay or Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), whichever is the greater of the two amounts
  • 12 weeks’ half pay or SMP, whichever is the greater of the two amounts 15 weeks SMP **Minimum of 52 weeks’ continuous employment prior to the end of the Qualifying Week.

Paternity pay

We offer colleagues who have been working with us for at least 52 weeks, two weeks’ full pay or SPP, whichever is the greater of the two amounts.

Shared parental leave

Colleagues are entitled to:

  • 12 weeks’ full pay or Shared Parental Pay (ShPP), whichever is the greater of the two amounts
  • 12 weeks half pay or ShPP, whichever is the greater of the two amounts
  • 15 weeks ShPP

Adoption allowance

We offer colleagues:

  • 12 weeks’ full pay or Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP), whichever is the greater of the two amounts
  • 12 weeks’ half pay or SAP, whichever is the greater of the two amounts
  • 15 weeks’ SAP

This is available to colleagues who have been working for us for 52 weeks prior to the end of the week in which the agency informs them they have been matched with the child (qualifying week).

Financial wellbeing

Pay

Our salary framework is designed to attract and retain the very best people, and to recognise and reward the unique contribution made by our colleagues.

Pension

All colleagues are automatically enrolled in a workplace pension. The Charity contributes four per cent and colleagues contribute five per cent of their monthly salary. Colleagues are free to opt out of the pension if they prefer. We also offer a salary exchange pension arrangement in which we contribute eight per cent and the employee contributes three per cent. 

Life insurance

On completion of induction, we offer comprehensive life insurance cover of four times your salary to support your loved ones should the worst happen.

Holidays, Birthdays and doing our bit

Holidays

Every colleague enjoys 29 days holiday entitlement, regardless of length of service, along with eight days bank holiday. And you get your Birthday off too! We also offer a holiday buy and sell scheme for up to 5 days per year.

Developing our people and enabling colleagues to do their best work is an important part of our culture. Our dedicated Learning Hub brings together learning and development resources and supports our colleagues with tips and guidance.
