Alf Turner Hero Award

Wednesday 21 December 2016

Alf Turner Ltd has been supporting our Heroes since 2012 with a range of H4H endorsed products and raised over £130k so far. At this year's Hero Awards they received an award for Outstanding Initiative in Supporting Our Heroes.

The partnership with H4H began when Paul Turner launched a range of award-winning sausages in 2012 with the backing of Dragons' Den's Peter Jones, using a traditional family recipe passed down from his grandfather, Alf.

Paul Turner explains, "My grandfather, Alf Turner, served in the Royal Army Service Corp for nearly 20 years. When he left the Forces he opened his butchers shop in Aldershot, the home of the British Army, so it seemed only natural that our business should support Help for Heroes."

Paul has proved an extraordinary friend of the Charity and has committed that every single product he makes under the brand will make a donation to H4H.

The range has been a great success with new products added each year. Hot on the heels of the pork sausages range, the fiery Dragon's Egg was launched in July 2014 and was an instant success with over 1 million scotch eggs sold in Coop stores alone! 2015 saw the introduction of Dragon’s Fury, a chilli pork crackling snack, and Traditional Pork Scratchings and this year the Dragon's Pork Pie, Dragon's Sausage Roll and Premium Scotch Egg joined the range. There are already some exciting new products in the pipeline for 2017 so watch this space!
