Service Personnel, Veterans, and those who have served alongside our Armed Forces, who were injured or became ill during service, or have an injury or illness due to their service. This includes regulars, reserves, recruits, under 18s, and those medically downgraded but currently in military employment, in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, Royal Air Force. It also includes civilians who support the military on deployment and work under the direction of the commander within the Armed Forces in an area of conflict or war, for example, Royal fleet Auxilliary, NAAFI, embedded journalists, photographers, and local translators.
We refer to those who are eligible for our support as ‘beneficiaries’.
